Iain Paton BVM&S MRCVS  - (Consultant)

Iain qualified from Edinburgh in 1964. His career started in small animal practice in London. He then became an assistant veterinary surgeon for Tony Blythe in a mixed practice in Braintree, which lead to a subsequent partnership. In 1972 Iain branched out to set up his own equine practice which resulted in the establishment of Hoo Hall. His experience is vast but his main interests are in surgery and stud medicine. Iain now works at Paton and Lee as a consultant. Iain's hobbies outside working life include fishing and ornithology.
Jonathan Lee BVSc MRCVS - (Partner)

Jonathan qualified from Liverpool in 1990 with Honours. His first job was with a mixed practice in Northamptonshire before coming back to his native Essex to work for Iain in 1992. He later joined the practice in 1996 as a partner to form 'Paton & Lee'. His main interests are Anaesthesia and Radiography. Jonathan is a former member of the Essex Hunt North Pony Club where he was in the Prince Philip Cup and he won the Calvert Cup. Jonathan  is a classic car enthusiast. 
Tony Lock BVetMed MRCVS - (Partner)

Tony graduated  from the Royal Veterinary College in 1997. He has been involved with the practice as a veterinary student, becoming an assistant upon graduation and later a partner in 2002. His main interests are in lameness investigation and breeding work. Outside work Tony has a keen interest in sport. In December 2008 Tony got married, and enjoyed the first proper holiday that he has had since graduating!

Ben Portus BSc BVSc MRCVS - (Partner)

Ben qualified from the University of Bristol in June 2003. For the first three months of his career he worked for the University of Helsinki in Finland studying artificial insemination in trotters and Finn horses. On his return to England, Ben worked for Paton and Lee for 18 months before going to Rossdales Equine Hospital in Newmarket and completing an internship. He then returned to Paton and Lee and became a partner in 2010. His main interests are now equine dentistry and breeding work. His wife runs a busy dressage yard and the 'Walk to Canter' tack shop in Stebbing.

Alex Fuller BA VetMB MRCVS - (Assistant)

Alex qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2006 and joined Paton and Lee having developed a keen interest in Lameness and Equine Medicine. He has learnt about horses the hard way in helping his father breed Welsh Cobs. In 2009 Alex came an impressive 6th in the National Poker Championships. He hopes to go one better in 2010 and make it all the way to Vegas!

Charlotte Andrews BVetMed MRCVS - (Assistant)

Charlotte is the latest addition to the practice. She qualified from London University in 2009 and after a year in mixed practice has decided she wants to specialise in horse work. She was an active member of the Essex North Pony Club and can be seen competing her own horses in local dressage and Riding Club competitions.
